The Carter Center is aware of more disinformation falsely attributed to its international election observation mission for the December elections in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Disinformation is false information intended to mislead and gain political power or make a profit. The Carter Center rejects the use of all forms of disinformation.
On Dec. 22, The Carter Center published a preliminary statement followed by a press conference on the elections in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. In the coming days, the Center plans to publish an interim report on the results of the tabulation process. A final report including recommendations for future elections will be published in the coming months. The Carter Center publishes its statements and reports on cartercenter.org and on its official social media accounts.
